About Dance San Francisco

SalsaCrazy since 1995

Dance San Francisco is the events arm of SalsaCrazy (DanceCrazy Productions Inc). SalsaCrazy started in San Francisco in 1995, and in 30+ years it has produced countless events: dance nights in every major San Francisco venue, nightclubs across the Bay Area, California and the United States, events in many countries, and salsa cruises around the world.

For 10 to 15 years, Fridays at Cafe Cocomo were a San Francisco institution. Today our Friday night is Dance Fridays at Space 550, now in its 11th year, and our Monday class runs at Neck of the Woods. We run 100+ events a year.

We've run corporate and private events for years alongside our weekly nights — team classes, holiday parties and group nights. Teaching complete beginners is what we do every week. No experience, partner or dance shoes are required, and participation is always optional.

Where we dance

Space 550 is at 550 Barneveld Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124. It has three rooms, free parking, 21+ events and capacity up to 1,000. Neck of the Woods is at 406 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, in the Inner Richmond, and holds up to 400. Both venues are 21+, including private buyouts. We teach at your office, your venue, a hotel or any event space in the Bay Area, or host groups inside our Friday and Saturday dance nights. The hosted packages are at Space 550 (Dance Fridays), with private nights also available at Space 550 or Neck of the Woods.

A private pre-party at Space 550 combines a private class and social with your playlist before your group stays for the public night. Other hosted formats include a group night with a private lesson, joining the regular night, and an off-night buyout. A cash bar is open at every hosted event.

How we run your event

We bring all the sound — mixer, PAs and everything needed — and arrive at least an hour before to set up. We send a run-of-show a week before your event and assign a named backup for larger bookings. Full event production includes DJs. Beginner lessons and partner rotation keep the format accessible without asking anyone to bring a dance partner.

At your location, choose a Lunch & Learn, Team Social or Full Event Production at your venue. At Space 550 (Dance Fridays), choose the hosted format that fits your group. Spanish-language instruction is included. Package details, group sizes and standard and premier prices are listed on the site and in the one-page package sheet.

Paperwork

We invoice, accept PO numbers and provide a W-9 and certificate of insurance on request. Tell us your headcount, preferred date and format, and we reply with a written quote the same business day.

Premier: taught by SalsaCrazy (Evan)

Evan, known across the Bay Area as SalsaCrazy, founded SalsaCrazy in 1995 and has spent 30+ years teaching complete beginners to dance. Choose the premier option and the founder runs your event personally — he takes very few private events, so availability is limited. He regularly teaches classes of 150 on his own and is at his best with big rooms. The premier option is priced at least double the standard package and is not offered for Team Socials of 30 or fewer or for Group Night (join the night).
